Schools

Aerosol infection is especially threatening to kids in schools. Students are staying in classrooms at least 6 to 8 hours everyday. Even with masks and vaccines, such long hours of gathering imposes substantially high risks to students and teachers in classrooms. Let alone kids under the age of 12 are not eligible to get vaccines for COVID-19.

In order to reduce the risks, schools should do deep disinfection during the recess time (e.g. 10 minutes). It will reset the concentration of infected aerosols in classrooms to minimum, so that the effective time of virus build up is shortened from 8 hours to less than 1 hour.

According to research, the build up time for a typical COVID-19 patient in a 900 sq. ft. x 9 ft. classroom is about 3 hours. So if the deep disinfection of aerosols is executed every hour, it can significantly reduce the chance of infection in the classroom.
